About Lumen Eyewear
A studio for frames and lenses
We started at a fitting bench with a lens edger and a stubborn belief that eyewear should be beautiful, comfortable, and cut precisely to the face and prescription of the person wearing it.
Our story
Lumen began in a narrow Gangnam studio in 2020, with one lens edger, a drawer of acetate blanks, and a frustration we couldn't shake — that good-looking glasses so rarely fit well, and well-fitting glasses so rarely looked good. We set out to make eyewear that did both, cut to order rather than pulled off a rack.
Everything we make is finished the same way today. Fronts are milled from Italian bio-acetate and hand-polished over several days; temples are cut from a single billet of Japanese titanium and flexed by hand to sit level. We glaze every prescription in-house, high-index and aspheric so even a strong lens stays thin. If a frame wouldn't be comfortable to wear from morning to night, it doesn't make the collection.
We believe in owning fewer, better things. One pair that fits perfectly and suits you is worth more than a drawer of glasses you never reach for. That is the quiet idea behind the studio, and it's the invitation we extend to you: try a few frames at home, and find the one you'll actually want to wear every day.
